ExpressCare - Department of Transportation (DOT) Exam

A Department of Transportation (DOT) physical exam helps commercial drivers fulfill regulatory requirements given by the Department of Transportation. They are conducted by our qualified providers and are valid for up to 24 months. The provider can also issue a certificate for less than 24 months when it is desirable to monitor a condition, such as high blood pressure.

Due to recent change in regulations, specific training is required for a medical provider to preform DOT examinations. At ExpressCare, we are happy to have many Certified DOT providers on staff. In order to make sure you see a certified provider when you need your exam preformed it is recommeded that you call ahead to your local clinic to make sure one is on duty. Our staff will be happy to give you a schedule of dates and locations that a Certified DOT provider is working on each day. Please call your local ExpressCare or call 410-616-938 for more information.

DOT exams include:

Department of Transportation (DOT) Exam
  • Health history review (as stated above)
  • Urinalysis
  • Physical exam (as stated above)

ExpressCare will complete your Medical Examination Report for your Commercial Driver Fitness Determination form. Additional fees may apply for other lab tests.

Please note that a sports physical exam and a DOT exam do not replace annual wellness physicals with your primary care doctor.
